Customs: Russia’s ferrous metals exports fall 4.2% in May
MOSCOW, Jul 8 (PRIME) -- Russia’s exports of ferrous metals decreased 4.2% on the month to 3.192 million tonnes and 5.2% to U.S. $1.536 billion in May, the Federal Customs Service said on Monday.
In January–May, exports of ferrous metals contracted 8.8% on the year to 17.519 million tonnes and 15.6% to $8.145 billion.
Cast iron exports dropped 15.5% to 1.873 million tonnes, while semi-finished carbon steel goods’ exports decreased 5.6% to 6.417 million tonnes.
In monetary terms, cast iron exports fell 17.7% to $657.7 million and semi-finished carbon steel goods shrank 18.6% to $2.795 billion.
